Notary Public Application and Renewals


The Notary Public Online Application and Renewal service allows individuals to apply for a Notary Public Commission, renew an existing Notary Commission, check the status of an application, and update personal information.  Since the launch of the service, the Secretary of State’s office has eliminated a four-month backlog of paper applications at the agency. Citizens now receive their commission certificates faster compared to the traditional paper method of waiting up to six weeks for it to arrive in the mail.
